As a skydiving operation, one of the things we hear most from experienced and non-experienced jumpers, is the love for our family-oriented environment. At any point during the weekend, you can sit back and watch the kids play games, family members mingling, the jumpers going through dive-flows, and the smell of the grill lingering. We strive to make everyone feel welcome, and not fall into the commercialization of the sport.
Skydive The South has an incredible, family-like environment, and it absolutely showed this weekend. We celebrated Thanksgiving with our jumpers both Saturday and Sunday, and we are truly thankful for each and every one of them. They show up on the weekends, ready to jump and better themselves as skydivers, and their love for the sport is undeniable. They push one another and encourage each other in a way that is almost magical to watch, and the bonds they have created are unique in ways that most can’t even imagine. And it’s not just at our drop zone, the bond between all skydivers is undeniably amazing. Skydivers have been the only group I have ever seen, where the sport is the one common denominator that drives such a variety of people together, from those who live at the dropzone – to those that makes millions per year – they all come together over their love of skydiving and for those moments, the outside world does not matter.
If you haven’t been to a dropzone, stop by and check us out – even if you don’t plan on jumping. We welcome everyone to our facility and would love to have you join us! Let us show you more about the sport that drives us all together…
“It’s more than a hobby or a sport, it’s a family”
